Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor, and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree of English literature. Mitchell began working as a TV and radio reporter in Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. 1996, she became a reporter for WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). In Washington she was made general reporter by NBC News two year later. She began covering the White House in 1981 and was named chief correspondent for the congressional office by 1988. Mitchell was appointed the chief White House correspondent in 1992. And the chief correspondent for foreign affairs at NBC News. Mitchell appeared as both a host and panelist in the TV news program Meet the Press. Mitchell also participated as a panelist in the debate in 1988 with George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is the wife of Alan Greenspan who was former chairman at Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell was awarded the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism in 2005 at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. The Radio-Television News Directors Association awarded Mitchell Leonard Zeidenberg the award in 2004 for her role to protect First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell covered in the White House first for NBC News between 1981 and 1988 between the terms of Ronald Reagan's second term as president. Mitchell covered a variety of notable news reports, including arm control, the budget tax as well as the Iran Contra scandal. Mitchell also attended numerous summits in the company of the President Reagan together with Mikhail Gorbachev.
